Now that it's spring the fields and orchards around Baron Samedi's temple are starting to bear fruit. Peaches and plums and berries and cherries and all kinds of things. There's way more than just the two of us can eat so I'm inviting anyone here who wants some to help themselves. If you let me know what you want I can try to have those ready for you otherwise I can just make up boxes of a variety of things.
I also have a few pies and sweet breads I made with them that are up for grabs.
[ooc note: Heads up, Baron Samedi's plantation is actually haunted so anyone that actually tries to eat this stuff raw will end up with some ridiculous curse. Cooking the fruit will serve to purify it (like cooking out the alcohol in something). Hence Horikawa is completely unaware of these affects.
Curses are up to you and vary from
Sensory loss (pick a sense and it's gone!)
Physical alteration (it could be your hair or your hair or your height or perhaps you've got something new like horns or a tail. Maybe your body is now covered in attractive green splotches. Please try to keep this to small mostly harmless changes)
Language error (maybe your character reverts back to their native tongue, maybe they suddenly have no filter. Or they feel compelled to converse entirely in rhyme. Or song. Whether or not this affects writing is your choice.)
Changes will occur 24 IC hours after being consumed and last for approximately 3-4 IC days. Feel free to message me with any questions. And have fun.]

action;
He's a little surprised that out of a garden of death, so much could grow. It's kind of ironic. Though he can't help but be a liiiiiiiiitle bit wary. After all, it's his garden on his plantation. Nothing's ever normal where his land's concerned.
But hey, who's going to turn down free fruit?
...hmm. Idea. Looking up and calling out. ]
Hori? D'you mind if I bring some over to a mate of mine? Aces in the kitchen. Might appreciate a bit of this.

But the tart of stone fruit and berries sits off to the side with a piece carved out of it. He'd sampled it himself and it had been perfectly average in every way and that was enough to assuage his doubt. Content, he now sets the peach in a pint sized basket with a few others varying in shades of soft yellow and pretty pinks.
So it is that Ron's request seems perfectly harmless as well. Really, Horikawa sounds a bit confused as to why his god would even need to ask.]
Why would I mind? It'd be a waste if we just let it all go bad.

[ Hey, it's what he'd do so he only seems half serious about the suggestion. But there's a hum though as he looks everything over. ]
If that's the case, I'll take a second for another mate of mine. M'sure he'd appreciate the free nosh. But everything's looking aces! Who knew it'd turn out so well, eh?
[ He's picking up one of those plums, looking them over curiously. Nice firm skin. That delicate smell just barely beneath the surface. Yes, these were definitely looking good. Already he's bustling about, designating some shadows to pack him a couple of boxes with a little bit of everything. Perhaps Horikawa had seen them earlier: slipping out of the manor, bringing in some baskets and boxes when they were full, filling others when they were empty, taking the empty ones back out to the orchard. ]
Good job today, by the by.

[When will Yamato use consistent capitalization and punctuation, it's a mystery.]
I'd like to come get some but should I bring a bag or a basket or a box??
[He doesn't want anything getting crushed... that would be a waste, even if it's excess.]

Thank you.

God or not, it was still a commodity and money still didn't grow on trees even in heaven.]
If you'd rather do that it wouldn't be hard for me to edit the post. It's your fruit after all. Ah-- [He can't help looking a little abashed at the praise which comes so much more frequently than from his previous gods.] It's no trouble either way.

[ Hey, you live here too. What's his is yours, after all. There's a hum though as he thinks it over. ]
You prolly don't have to edit anything. Could always just set up shop in the Near Shore prolly. Seems to be a big something or the other going on. I'd be happy to do it for you if you help me get it there.

[Where that's all coming from though... well it was kind of hard to ask when they didn't talk much.]

the venerable residents of temple neith would probably prefer pie if thats a thing but im down for actual fruit
like apples or something if youve got them
[Action]
He can't imagine that was the name he was born with, but it suits him well enough.]
Pies an' sweet breads? Yer making my mouth water! Forgive me, I haven't introduced myself...
I'm Joker an' I can assure all yer food doesn't go ta waste!

Is it just the two of you? [So he knows how much to prepare for the right number of people...]

i'll take a slice of each, please (‐^▽^‐)

[ She has to wonder about her crew members tbh. Maybe she's always hungry because those phantoms are hungry. They are technically a part of her after all! Oh but saying that would just be weird, and she doesn't want to be viewed as weird, so: ] But... perhaps we may have more? If you have more available.

[It's still taking come getting used to after he worked so hard to endear himself to to god that was only a step away from being nonexistent. And then he actually was.]
Sure we could do that though. [Then it hits him, smacking his fist into his palm.] That's right! The victims of the demon attack. They could definitely use the food right now.
[Action]
That's right. It's a pleasure, Joker. Would you like to come in? [He holds the door to the mansion wide open. It's a charming two story affair, a little worn on the surface as if to only hint at the oddities contained within.]
You can take whatever you like best.

[Explain, Hori?!]

[How else is he supposed to explain? Everyone has one right??]
Mr. Knox says they were here when he first arrived. They can be quite helpful. [Which is to say, sometimes they are exactly the opposite...]

much as i am dedicated body and soul to citrus eating lemons is relegated to a level of badassery beyond even myself
only the true citrus masters can achieve that kind of lofty goal
i guess strawberries are cool too if those are part of your berry harvest

[ It was good to know that they were on the same page when it came to thinks like this at least. ]
I can always settle down there and you can hold the fort back home, eh? Just in case anyone comes round looking for a share.

[Like... move... but then again, he supposes he shouldn't be too surprised. Why wouldn't shadows wander around being helpful up here? It's really not any stranger than anything else up here.]
well if you're really sure

Yer kindness will not be forgotten. Are ye sure you don't want anything in return?

I meant to help out with the recovery as well. Once these guys finish up I could at least give you a hand bringing them to the town.
[Even if gods could teleport... that was a lot to carry at one time.

I'm starting to think there's enough to feed the whole far shore. It's no problem. I can send you both a little bit of everything. If you like I could drop by with it later? [No he's not snooping at all.]

Indeed they are though.

Although, our temple is situated up in the mountains. The easiest route to take would be to follow the valley's river to the main temple. If you need assistance, I can send a crew member and a plane to pick you up at the base.

[He doesn't feel like it would be appropriate to ask for a lift just because it's cool but... that would be cool.]

[Even if the house itself is overwhelming -- shadows darting too and fro with their boxes of fruit are something to take in all on their own -- Horikawa does his best to affect a welcoming air. A guest is a guest and should be made to feel at home.
While you're here can I get you anything? Aside from the fruit that is.

[ They are her planes, technically. Being a spirit of a ship. ]
The Nakajima E8N can pick you and any cargo up at the base of the river, if you would like. They are quite sturdy. [ She's.... used them to carry lots of food up to the temple before, hahaaaa. ]

because i cant see lemon squeezing working that well for me otherwise
but yeah i can take the weak grasshopper route and start with lemonade
im pretty sure my god would be into strawberries too so you know why not both
lemons and strawberries we can make this work

[ Rubbing his nose lightly, looking at the boxes of fruit around them. ]
If there's anyone in particular you'd want to give a batch to, best we set some aside from them before taking the lot we'll be giving out down.
