As truly delightful as that little task was, must we often trouble ourselves with such trivial matters? It seems such a terrible waste to pass out chocolates to those who won't even remember who we are.

Of course that's of concern to me! I shan't like to have the blood of innocent people on my hands, especially when those people won't remember who gave them the blasted chocolates.

Being forgotten isn't the same as being gone.

What do you intend to do about your dissatisfaction?

It's a dreadful realization, you're quite right.

Well, I'm not sure what I can do, but I intend to take it up with someone who will kindly listen to me!

If you take it up with someone, I'd suggest making your point clear.

I doubt the Heavens were completely ignorant of this.

They would not be so all-knowing if they did not even realize what consequences something like that would bring, yes.

I imagine many of us are very cross with them.

Nothing of this scale could simply be a mistake. I highly doubt they're all they're cracked up to be, but I've seen worlds like this before.

I'd think less of any 'god' who wasn't. We're responsible for this world.

Then you too are a god! I see your morals are quite intact, which is quite reassuring.

What do you propose we shall do to make sure this world is protected?

I just have a sense of purpose, that's all.

Learn from this, for starters. We can't trust the orders we're given are to the world's benefit, and we know that now.

Even so, I am not sure everyone else would act the same as you, purpose or otherwise.

And what of any possible repercussions that may arise from our refusing to play into their hands?

Honestly, I'd be surprised if they did.

If it's a question of myself against a world I'm responsible for, there's only one answer.

And what should your answer be?

If my role is to protect something, then even if it costs my existence, that's what I'll do.

Are you not afraid of not existing?

No. Sometimes that's the outcome you face.

Well. I do admire you for that. If you were to cease existing, would you leave any sort of legacy? If you knew about your demise, that is.

If I've served my purpose, that's all there really needs to be.

You're truly not worried about people forgetting you, and what you've done?

I wasn't made to be remembered.

Even so! That does not mean you cannot wish to be remembered.

By who?

We're quickly forgotten in this world, either way.

The other gods and shinki here, of course!

There's no need for that.

Of course there is! How awful it is, to be forgotten, to be treated as if you never left even the smallest mark on the world--as I'm sure most people would agree.

That was always the nature of my existence.

Railing against it is a wasted effort.

And what of the people who care about you?
