He notices the limp and tuts at it, but lets himself be dragged along without protest.]

[Like Sora, he also sits on the edge, dipping just his legs into the water for now.]

[Honestly most of the last half of their fight with Axel is a blur to Sora. He can barely remember any of it. Especially not coming to Forrest’s temple.]

…Oh! No, I don’t remember that.

[Sora kicks at the water, watching it ripple.]

You dragged me all the way in here?

[He feels grateful for that. Without Riku Replica to drag him here who knows what would have happened. He looks up at him and smiles.]

Thanks. I might have been toast without you tossing me in here, then!

Yeah...you weren't in any condition to walk, so I had to get some help carrying you.

[Sora did not get thrown in the pool, that might've resulted in drowning and Rep reserves that level of mean for enemies ~~and Joshua~~.]

You're not too much better right now. Less purple, but...well, at least you're up and talking.

[He doesn't wait for Sora to respond to that before sliding off the edge of the pool and into the water--clothes and all--disappearing under the water for a few moments before resurfacing.]

[Sora just watches Riku Replica vanish into the water with a smile on his lips. He contemplates how alike his shinki is to Riku in times like this, just the way he talks and acts. He knows it's not fair to compare them but the likeness pops up once in a while beyond looks.

When Riku Replica pops back up Sora's smile turns into a grin.] Well, how does that feel?

[Knowing that he's right about Sora not being much better right now either, he then slides into the water himself but doesn't submerge himself. Instead he hangs onto the edge for a moment before letting go and floating on his back.]

[That grin gets a skeptical look. He's not trying that hard to make Sora less angry, but he seems to be succeeding nonetheless, if that grin is any indication.]

I don't feel any better or worse...how do you feel?

[The water washes away most of the purple haze off his skin but there is still pain in his muscles.]

Like I wanna sleep for a week straight, but less stingy.

[He lets out a small laugh and floats around a bit.]

I don't think even you could do that, stay asleep for a week.

[He flicks some water in Sora's direction.]

But you might heal a bit faster...

[At the splash, Sora pretends to drown for a second and ducks his head under the water. In reality he's a very good swimmer, so he pops his head back out and treads there.]

It might. At least... A vacation of some sort would be nice.

[He'll let Riku Replica bring up his concerns when he wants to. There's still the issues they need to talk about but Sora isn't sure if his usual pressing is going to work.]

[Oh no, he killed his g--oh wait, there he is.]

Take a vacation, then. You're a god, you can do whatever you want, go wherever you want. Just as long as you tell me...or take me along.

[Sora's welcome to press, or else he'll just have to wait a bit for Riku to find a good time to bring up things.]

[He grins.] Is it that easy? If we don't answer prayers we might go poof.

[Sora is only... half joking. Could gods take breaks? He doesn't really know.]

[He swims back to the edge of the pool and holds onto the ledge and lets his body fall limp in the water.]

Mostly because... you and me haven't been really talking as much as I think we should be.

[There's his pressing. He's not gonna force Riku Replica to say anything but Sora is gonna be honest. He really wishes they were closer. But why did it always feel difficult to get there?]

I told you I'm not good at the sharing feelings thing.

[Except clearly it's making things worse; the more he bottles things up, the more questions Sora asks and he's not really hiding anything anyway.

Maybe this is a good opportunity to try the clearing his conscience or whatever it was that the one anon said earlier.]

...Okay, I hate that you make friends so easily. It's...not even your fault, I just hate it. I feel like you're going to find a shinki you get along better with and I'll get pushed aside.

[He doesn't even know why he feels like that, he knows it's an overreaction, but he can't help it.]

I don't want that to happen. But I don't say anything because it's stupid. And it's still stupid.

[Sora would never think a concern like that is stupid. It gives him some real rough flashbacks of how Riku acted when he became friends with Donald and Goofy. He knows that this is a different situation and it’s not Riku but it’s still the same feelings and deserves validation.]

You’re my first shinki and that means a lot to me. I’d never push you aside for another one. Even if I did get another one you’re still really important to me. We showed up here together, and that’s never going to change.

[He wishes he had a way making it more clear that Riku Replica would always be that important to him. He pauses and then smiles.]

[It's a good thing he doesn't have any of his memories, or else he'd doubt Sora so much. Since he doesn't, he just gives Sora a somewhat worried look.]

[He wants to believe Sora, but a small part of him feels that he's just being nice to be nice.]

[Deep breath. He's already admitted one thing to Sora, time for another.]

I don't think a proper exemplar uh...steals things. Like uh, money. Or textbooks...

[Suddenly the water looks so much more interesting than Sora's face, and he's going to give it the attention it deserves.]

[The thing is Sora never says anything just to be nice, he is genuinely sincere about everything that comes out of his mouth. He wouldn’t say it if it wasn’t true.]

You’ve always been there when I needed you and you’ve never let me down. Yeah, we might not get along perfectly but when it comes to being my shinki you’ve been great. So no, I’m not just saying it, it’s really, really true. I’m really happy we’re partners.

[He knows they can get along better but that’s gonna rely on Riku Replica not being distant and accepting facts about Sora that would never change. The biggest one being that Sora does care and feel for a lot of people but his heart is big enough to cherish all his friendships. One isn’t less than another, and it’s something Riku had to learn to accept too.

In that instant he misses Namine a lot, he never got a chance to ask her about Riku Replica’s past and background.

Sora splashes Riku Replica with water. ]

But you’re sorry about the stealing though, that’s really important!

[He already forgives Riku Replica for that.]

Gah! Don't do that!

[Why you splash, Sora? That's not nice! He'll splash back before addressing the rest of Sora's mini friendship speech.]

I guess I can say I'm happy we're partners...I'm more happy that we're just friends. You're a complete dork and I don't understand you at all, but uh...I can try. And let you know how I'm feeling more often or whatever.

[Even though he can't guarantee anything. He feels a lot better though, just saying what he's said so far. Maybe Sora's onto something.

There's a pause at the end, before he suddenly adds something:]

...Can we get rid of that cat?

[Sora lets out a bubble of playful laughter when he's splashed back and he shakes the water from his hair.]

What, are you afraid of a little water?

[Riku Replica's confession that he's happy their friends makes Sora blink and then grin brightly.]

I'm glad we're friends too! Thanks, that means a whole lot to me. You're a big grump sometimes, but I'll try to understand you more too.

[It's a step in the right direction and that's all Sora can ask for right now.]

The cat. You- ... You wanna? I guess uhh... I guess we should, huh.

I--no, I'm not afraid of the water!

[Indignation! But only slight. Don't get holy pool water in his nose, Sora, that's rude.]

...At least we're on the same page now, right? We just need to talk more often?

And yeah, I don't care how cute it is or how much it likes me, I don't want it anymore.

[See? Big grump sometimes. Sora merely sticks his tongue out at Riku Replica and then grins playfully.

Which then settles down to a genuine smile and a nod. As long as Riku Replica tries to trust him more and open up to him more and tries to spent time with him, Sora thinks things will improve. He really wants to be closer to him.

But yeah the cat. Ayakashi. It's time. Bleh.]

... Yeah. It's probably bad that we've kept it for as long as we have. I'm kinda surprised no one found it before we could figure out what to do with it, honestly. When we get back then.

[They'll 'take care' of it. Rend it...]

Hey... Can I ask you one more thing? Can I ... call you something other than Riku? With the other Riku gone now it just... It's kind of hard for me.

Thanks. Maybe it'll be gone when we get back and we won't have to deal with it.

[They could just keep it and let it do it's own thing, but there's always the chance it'll bring friends someday.]

[He's not super attached to the name, but at the same time, it's the only thing he's ever remembered about his life and so it seems sort of weird to change it. But Axel had said that he and the 'other Riku' were probably twins that died at different ages...it would be strange to go by his brother's name.]

I don't have a problem with it, but...what were you planning on calling me instead?

[Definitely the responsible thing to rend it if they see it. They should have done it ages ago.]

Well. I'm not really sure. Is there any names that you might like?

[He knows he can't plain explain to Riku Replica why he doesn't want to call him Riku anymore. It's complicated and painful and he's actually incredibly grateful that his shinki doesn't press for details and doesn't seem that angry.]

Could always just go by your vessel name all the time, or can pick something that you really like! What do you think? If I were to pick something it would probably be something like... Aki or Ivar.

[Which surprise are both Norse names. Weird.]

[He'd probably be more angry if Riku hadn't been around; then he'd be a little upset that Sora wanted to change the only name he knew could be his.]

No...we'd have to come up with something else eventually, I don't intend on spending that much time as a bunch of cards. I haven't thought about it, since I never really planned on changing it. [Half true.]

Ivar? Aki? [He spends a minute muttering the names quietly, including short sentences introducing himself to a theoretical someone. Finally he shakes his head, sprinkling droplets of water into the pool around him.]

I don't like them, they don't sound right. Can I think about it for a while?

[He can't help but chuckle lightly under his breath when Riku Replica tests the names out. When he's done Sora nods.]

Yeah for sure. It's not something that you can really pick in a few minutes. It's got to sound right and feel right.

[Though, Sora looks a little ponderous next, tapping his his cheek.]
