[Yuuki hasn't been a shinki nearly as long as some. But even she can realize when things are very, very wrong.

The room she awakens in is not her own, and that much is clear right away. Already confused by her new location, she is immediately informed that this is where she belongs now; that she is the shinki of Neith, not Freya.

It's enough to terrify her.

It had all happened so abruptly, she has no time to even try to begin to understand. Why the change? And how? Did she do something wrong? Was Bo okay?

Had she somehow failed as a shinki?

By the time Hajime meets with Yuuki, she isn't the cheerful, enthusiastic girl Hajime has seen so often. Instead, her head is tipped down, hands clenched at her sides as she practically exudes waves of fear, anxiety, and insecurity.

No. This isn't right. This isn't how it's supposed to be.

I don't serve Bo anymore I'm one of Hajimes shinki now.

I just woke up in her shrine all of a sudden and I don't know why

Bo where are you?? Has anyone seen her recently???

I don't understand. What happened???? Is this normal??

She was. The last thing I remember, I was at Bo's temple, but then I woke up here instead.

[It's confusing and hurtful, all rolled into one.]

[The response is swift and simple. There's no way Bo would do something like leave her behind without a word. She doesn't believe it for even a second.]

She was my goddess. It's supposed to be my job to guide her.

[Why wouldn't she be loyal? Isn't that, too, the duty of a shinki?]

shinkis can be friends with gods, too, you know! ☆
don't feel obligated to fit just one role

[Then again, Sheryl isn't the kind to stick to one role forever. All she can do right now is give Yuuki some encouragement.]

Gods and shinki are on different levels though

[This is what she knows to be true, although she couldn't say where the thought comes from, missing her memories as she is. But even if she doesn't often express them due to her position, she has quite a few thoughts on what gods should and should not be.]

but will you let something like social hierarchies stop you?

[If either Alto or Ranka were to arrive here and become shinki, not that Sheryl wants them trapped here but if that ever happens... she can't really say that being a goddess will automatically erase her friendship with them. Being in a prestigious position hasn't stopped her before.]

i can see that, yes, but they are both equally important

to love your family and to be in love with someone
those people become a part of you

Theyre both important but i dont treat my god the same way i treat my friends.

Like how familys different from someone you fall in love with

I care about them both but theyre still different

i understand now. you and i are different, then

speaking as a goddess, it's great to have people look up to me and revere me
having my own legacy to leave behind so others can remember me
that's what i want to happen

but if i ever find someone who can stand at the same level as me
and see them as more than just another face to remember
i'll do whatever it takes to make that bond grow

Its because we're at different levels. A shinki isnt on the same level as a god

[Sheryl may be speaking from the point of view of a goddess, but Yuuki, as a shinki, knows she is not able to stand on equal ground to a god. They're simply too different.

On the other hand, she's also far too busy worrying about other things to keep arguing semantics on something that ultimately doesn't matter anymore. After all, Bo's...]

[Even if she still disagrees, Sheryl can't help but feel guilty that their dispute on semantics is what's stopping Yuuki's search for Bo. So for now, she'll leave her alone.]
