That's for sure.
But after living here for a while I've started to think the afterlife is way more complicated.
Between missing gods, weird powers, and ayakashi it's tough to keep up.

Imagine being a child on the near shore, able to see what goes on here on the far shore. But every time you try to tell someone, they don't believe you.
Japan does not look favorably on what they consider to be mental illness.
I was human, once. But I finally found answers to what I was seeing, and decided that world was much more suitable for me than the one I was in. The people that belonged to that world actually believed me.

There are worse things, yes.
[He's not sure how well this is helping. But relaying that he's been confused and hurting before is something, isn't it? He's trying to show that he can relate.]
What I can say won't take away the pain and shock of what you've seen. Only time can do that. But know that there are those willing to support and help when you need it.
Myself included, if you like.

Then rest. I won't disturb you unless it's an emergency.
This place does seem pretty tough on shinki.
If there was a way to go back home, would you take it?
[She's not really sure why she asked that. Without memories it's probably easier for shinki to let go of the world they came from. And if they did go back, he'd just be stuck in that library again.]

[He's having a bit of trouble visualizing Nageki as a bird. Especially since when they had met, the younger had looked like an everyday normal person. Though, he supposed, it explained why Nageki had been acting the way he did at the Hanami party where they first met.]
Remembered... you remember something from when you were alive?
[It was strange since shinki weren't supposed to remember anything about their lives when they were alive.]
It is weird. Was that the only thing you remembered?
I see.
[Learning that you had been a bird while alive would definitely have stuck out over everything else.]
That's okay.
I think home means something different for each person.
But you'll find out what it means to you little by little.
And sorry for asking a weird question like that.
I don't even know what made me think of it.

I hope you get to see it someday.
But in the meantime this place isn't so bad.
Let's make the best of it.
[Together. But would that make it too awkward? Probably. She erases that last word before she sends it.]
