I need advice. I have been given the most terrible secret in the world, and the person I confide in most, whose opinion I would normally seek in this circumstance, is the one who I must keep the secret from.

I am very good at keeping secrets, but I am not nearly as good at bearing things alone as I used to be. Without knowing who I can trust not to tell this person, it's left me in a predicament.

Which means, I suppose, I am asking for help.

If I am correct with my theory- let me stress to you this one fact. Under no amount of duress must you tell your shinki about their past. As shinkis we are already in danger of akayashis, being told about the past could cause mental stress and tip them pass the line of shinki and into akayashi.

If I had considered speaking in any way with my shinki about her past, I would not be asking people how better to keep a secret.

That is good to hear, but you do have to make sure that they do not have reason to question you as well. Ask you about their past.

And I do understand that, but it is not as easy as it sounds. And she is both very curious and very stubborn by nature.
