Where I come from, those who have had the misfortune to cross paths with the genuine article learn that what most think of when they hear the word "vampire" is a harmless fiction compared to the real thing.
[Joscelin snorts when he reads this. It brings on another bout of painful coughing.]
Do they, now. I would quite agree with you. A vampire at full strength is quite the terrifying thing. Particularly if the vampire hasn't fed in a while.
I'm actually one of the lucky few to have experienced the real thing and lived to tell the tale. A wondrous thing, truly, that I might survive a battle with such a terrifying foe only to die of gangrene!
That aside, though, I can't claim to be any sort of expert. The Dead Apostle that I faced while on crusade was so powerful that I was more concerned with my survival than learning anything about it. The other I encountered more recently, but I was rather preoccupied with escaping prison at the time!
That is...quite a story. I would be interested in hearing more, should you have the time. I'm rather homebound at the moment, but I can be found at the Temple of Vesta.
You died of gangrene? That's a bit anticlimactic.
[ooc: would it be cool with you if these two meet?]

What else have you heard?

I always have the time! You might find me a bit difficult to get rid of.
But yes, it was rather an anticlimactic way to go. Of course, I shouldn't complain too terribly much about it because it was rather my own fault.
