----------

For those of you who aren't already aware, my name is Add and I've been researching the topic of our arrival in this world as well as the frequent disappearances and what may be causing them. If you have any interest in preventing these disappearances or returning to your own world, I advise you to read the rest of this post in full. I've been working on a project that will benefit everyone greatly.

I'm not going to repeat everything needlessly, so here are all my previous reports. Read these before asking any technical questions.

To summarize the relevant parts: when a non-native god or shinki "disappears" from this world, their "soul" is sucked into a portal that appears for a brief window of time and their body is destroyed. In the past I've been able to observe one of these portals and obtain dimensional coordinates from it, which I later used to generate a copy of the portal. Unfortunately, at this time we are unable to leave through these portals ourselves due to an unknown force causing our souls to "reincarnate" when the body is destroyed, preventing the soul from leaving this dimension. This is outside my normal area of expertise, so for now I'd like to focus on the portal aspect some more.

Right now I have two samples of these dimensional coordinates. From these two samples, I can confirm that the coordinates and dimensional information differs slightly between individuals. The place where gods and shinki are being sent appears to be a space between multiple dimensions, like a hub of sorts, where the souls can be collected and then transferred to different dimensions.

My information on this hub dimension is limited, but I believe if we collect enough samples we may be able to create a "map" of that dimension. This won't be useful to us while we're still stuck here, but there are several benefits in the long term to obtaining even a partial map. For one, we'll be able to pinpoint where individual souls have been since disappearing from this dimension, allowing us to estimate where they may have ended up on the other side in order to locate them again. Knowing the layout of this dimension will make it easier to navigate and find our way back. It may also allow us to find specific worlds, if it's true that missing persons are sent back to the place they came from.

Basically, the more we know about this hub dimension the easier it'll be to locate missing persons and return to our own worlds. I think everyone can agree that this is an important topic.

PROJECT: STAR CHART

I've created a specialized device that can detect and record information from these portals. While carried by a god or shinki, it'll respond to the appearance of a portal by taking a "snapshot" of the dimensional coordinates within and sending this data to a nearby receiver, along with the precise time and location of the incident. Not only will this allow us to collect more detailed information on the hub dimension, it'll provide us with a more exact record of god/shinki disappearances.

Features:
  • Lightweight, compact device that can be safely inserted into the body or worn as a discreet piece of jewellery.
  • Internal chip device measures at 7mm x 3mm x 3mm.
  • External device measures at 20mm x 20mm x 7mm, fitted to a 1.5mm thick metal backing that can be attached to a necklace, bracelet or ring. Other options available upon request.
  • Self-powered using Nasod technology. A small amount of energy is absorbed from the wearer and surrounding environment to remain active.
  • Full coverage within Takamagahara, limited coverage within the Near Shore (time/location data may not be exact). Extending coverage of the Near Shore is a work in progress and will begin within Japan.
  • To ensure users' privacy, all tracking data transferred by the device is heavily encrypted and accessed only through a separate network created solely for this purpose. Access to this network will be restricted to trusted and experienced individuals only, and there will be a permanent log of all data accessed to ensure the system is not abused.
  • Permissions can be set up to either allow specific individuals to request your location in case of an emergency, or to disable the active tracking feature completely. For the latter, location information will not be transferred actively and a signal will only be sent when a portal/disappearance has been reported.
  • More features may be implemented in the future.
Before I continue, I'd like to clear up a few concerns or questions some of you may have right now. First of all, I'm not the only one that's been working on this project. The device is my own creation, but I will not be actively monitoring the network it's connected to or responding to requests for location data from it. Ebisu, God of Fortune, Fishing and Business, has offered to fund the project and has selected a small group of his own shinki to act as administrators. As unbiased outsiders working for a known and trusted god of this world, I believe this is the best option for minimizing any abuse of the system. If you still have issues with anyone having access to your location at all, as previously stated I can disable active tracking and set up your device so that it only transfers data to the network when a portal has been detected and your disappearance is confirmed.

Hakkai, another God of Fortune acting as Li Tieguai, God of Medicine, has also provided substantial assistance in setting up the Takamagahara network and testing the effectiveness of the devices. Additionally, I have tested the devices thoroughly on several other volunteers over the past couple months, and one of my dimensional coordinate samples was obtained during this testing. Both the internal and external devices are perfectly safe, and I can confidently say that they will react as intended with minimal chance of error.

What I'm asking for now are volunteers willing to carry one of these devices. Keep in mind this will mean that even if you disappear from this world, there will be an accurate record of when and where you vanished as well as the coordinates within the dimension you were sent to. There's no guarantee yet that the place you end up will be the world that you came from. Regardless of where that place is, we'll be able to locate you in the future once we're able to leave this dimension and travel freely. This is for your own peace of mind as much as it is everyone else's.

If you're interested in volunteering, some personal information will be required before we can begin. All of this information will be kept confidential. My exemplar Jakob will be assisting with this step of the process, so you may be contacted by him instead of myself.

If there are any questions about the project, you can post them here and I will answer to the best of my ability. If you have unique circumstances that may cause issues with the device I can look into that as well.

What if someone decided, after becoming part of this project, that they don't want to participate anymore?

I do apologize for the uninteresting data over the last few weeks.

[Unconsciousness, followed by sticking close to home to recover... he's not actually certain if Add has been tracking his location data, but he's a bit curious. Besides, he'd promised to back him up on this.]

Don't do anything that will get Ebisu or his shinki killed.

I know that. I was already briefed by him.

I'll cooperate as a volunteer. To keep things neutral, I won't participate on the administrative side either.

But I want my god and temple safe.

[The deals she doesn't know about can't hurt her!]

It wouldn't bother me if you had my data, personally.

[He trusts Add, because of course he does]

But mine fell out again. I found it this time though.

Sadly, no. If I lose it, I'll be sure to contact you for its location.

Ah-- and I still need to do the paperwork? As an early adopter, I thought I would be exempt.

[He'll do it, though. Ebisu wanting every detail correct is a good trait.]

I don't think I'm doing anything new. But I've had my phone since I was new here, so maybe it's not the same thing.

[But he's brought green things to Ain plenty of times, so that can't be it]

I can bring it to you when you're not busy.

Okay. Do you want me to bring anything other than the device?

Maybe food or something?

If I had to, I wouldn't need to ask.

['It was a raid...None of us fought them.'

A slim chance, but so were the events leading up to the raid. Ebisu's temple is not a temple of fighters, but they're not defenseless either. It's a big if, but what if someone tried to raid the temple for data?

What if they found something else in the process?

Overthinking sucks.

But Ebisu agreed and so she'll trust in her god and temple.]

If this experiment is a success and I disappear before then, I want to be brought back here.

I'm afraid my location isn't all that private. But no, if you insist, I'll take the time.

[Unless Add's collecting more than just location information, of course, which would be interesting....]

Thank you.

I suppose I should set up an appointment to get the device implemented.

Aren't those offerings for you?

[One would be surprised what spare change he's collected from unlikely places]
