[ Kairi sits in the shade of a tree with the Soulless Shinki temple behind her. ]

I've given it a lot of thought... and I want to ask if there are any gods out there that don't have any shinki right now.

[ She takes another deep breath. ]

I can't talk about it too much right now, but after losing my goddess, the first person I would have gone to... he's gone as well. I spent a long time weighing my options the last time this happened - maybe too long. I want to try to be decisive this time.

The first few months I was here, I hardly had a day I wasn't busy helping my god with his prayers or training with the other shinki at my temple. I miss that activity and those bonds, but I miss the impact I made in the lives of people on the Near Shore more. I'm a shinki so I can't do that as well on my own as with a god who will see me as a partner.

If there's a god who thinks that we could work well together, I'd be happy to talk with you some more.

Ah well I appreciate the offer, but there are already places set up for shinki without gods to stay temporarily. I've always helped maintain them, without expecting to ever need them myself. I wouldn't expect a newer god to know about that, of course.

[ She's a little intimidated by his cool demeanor while simultaneously being kind enough to offer her a place, though. Both of her previous gods have been closer to her age. ]

You’ve been an excellent student and sparring partner, and I wouldn’t stand to see you go without a proper partnership one way or another.

[He's pretty used to people finding him familiar due to his status, but he's also more used to the people recognizing him also being after him because of said status.

Kairi's clearly not after him, and even if she was, she's a shinki.]

Huh. Didn't know that. Well, both offers still stand, 'specially if you're also looking for a sparring partner. Mine all ditched me.

I have a shinki right now, but it's Sora, because Suou isn't here anymore either, but Sora showed up right after. I don't know if you'd want that, but... You could still come here if you wanted.

Kairi…you have my sympathies. [ This frown is his sympathetic face please just roll with it. ]

I see that you have offers for shelter already, but if there is anything else I can do to ease your burden…

[ Oh, Kairi.. Minako has a faint idea of what the other girl might mean with the first person she would've gone to being gone as well. And if there's anything that tugs at Minako's heartstrings, it's that.

But just being all sad about it won't do. Try to turn this into something positive, Minako!! ]

Hey, Kairi! I can't exactly help you out with the god problem, but.. do you want to go hang out in the Near Shore sometime soon? We can even keep an eye out to see if there's any ayakashi causing trouble, so it'll be useful too! Aside from just.. you know, fun friend time.

... I don't have a shinki either. Well, besides the soulless one, but... I don't know how I feel about someone only existing to serve me, so we haven't exactly gotten on very well.

But it's more important you get yourself somewhere to stay and let yourself be alone, alright? My temple's got plenty of room, and I know you have a lot of offers already, but I figured it was the least I could do to throw my hat into the ring as well.

Sparring partner? Well, it depends on the weapon you use, but that's an offer I could consider very seriously... Nyx?

I should probably talk with you again now that you've had a bit of time to settle into things -

Hi Ren, it's nice to meet you. It's funny - normally I'd be the one saying something like that to newer shinki, not getting an offer like that from a shinki so much newer than me.

With any luck you won't have to learn how hard it can be to lose your god or goddess, especially for the second time in a year.

[ She says it quite matter-of-factly. ]

Nanako... I'm sorry to hear about Suou.

[ She did meet him and knew his personality well enough that she has to believe Sora is a better fit for her. At the very least, Sora has such a protective streak that she can't fret as much with Nanako going out on her own in the role of Goddess if Sora is with her. ]

Ah... Sora is a very nice young man, Nanako! So I'll definitely have to come by your temple sometime to say hello and maybe even play a little or help train Sora, if he's willing.

[ Yeah right. Like she's worried about that. ]

I'll let you know if there isn't another god who needs me more.

[ She'd hate to put Nanako in a position where Sora might get blighted on her account and then Nanako felt the impact of it. ]

Jakob, I...

[ She wants to thank him over and over again, because she knows how rare this is for him. ]

I need to think a little bit, but right now I'd say the hardest thing is that I had all kinds of mementos from my time here, all the way back to Roxas' temple, and I can't find them in all of the dust of Hajime's old temple. I keep going back to look every so often, but I haven't found much. I don't know how you'd be able to help with something like that, though.

Oh Minako... that would be so great! I... lost a lot of clothes recently, you know-

[ And she's struggling with her tone of voice there for a minute, thinking of shopping without Forrest. But she pushes on. ]

So a little shopping, a little walking around, and of course looking out for ayakashi... I'd really love an afternoon like that.

Oh, uhm, Miss Ishtar, it's very nice to meet you.

[ She doesn't recognize her so she assumes this is a new goddess. ]

I hope you'll be gentle on your Soulless shinki. They can only do so much on their own behalf, after all. I've actually been staying with them while I collected my thoughts.

I think right now just getting myself back out there is the best thing I can do. I stayed away for almost a month last time this happened, I was so upset about it all.

[He'd meant to just send a voice message, but after accidentally turning it to video, he just left it there. He's not doing anything particularly interesting, though--mostly just looking at the phone screen and occasionally the nearby walls.]

Unfortunately, yes. [A pause, because.... ah, that's not entirely true.] I do have Herbert, [her Soulless shinki,] but he doesn't quite make for very good company.

[He is, however, a reliable means of defense should she need him.]

That sounds great to me.

[ Especially since maybe she'll be able to give Kairi some memories involving clothes and shopping that don't have Forrest in them. Might make it at least a tad easier. ]

I actually found some super cute clothing shops-- and you're the first one I'm letting in on that super secret information! [ Maybe Minako's cheer is a little bit over the top, but this is just how she works.. If someone is sad, she just has to overcompensate with her own extreme cheer to try and balance it out. ] One of them has these adorable cat shirts, I'm sure you'll love them!
