Good evening.
( She bows her head in greeting and smiles shyly, trying to not look too nervous. You would think she'd be used to this sort of thing by now but she isn't. )
Sorry to ask such a strange question b-but uhm... is anyone interested in fortune telling? My temple has a large assortment of celestial charts and divining cards and... well, I've been wanting to practice. Hehe...
B-but it might be a little difficult to use those here so...! ( She looks down at her hands, ) I was thinking we could try something a little easier?
( And she holds up a paper fortune teller. The top folds have four pictures on them: A tiger, a tortoise, a bird, and a dragon. )
Please, pick one.
( ooc: It's implied that Sakura has some premonition skills because she's a priestess but she herself isn't aware of it and isn't able to tap into it actively! Sakura's paper fortune teller will be asking about some popular/general areas. You'll be prompted in a tag depending on what your character chooses and you can tell me if you they'll have good or bad luck in the future. It's a paper fortune teller! It's going to be general and vague so what are you really expecting??? You can also prompt Sakura to try using her charts/cards for something a little more in depth and we can work that out on plurk at
eski or PM! Otherwise, she can totally just get things wrong... she's a teenaged girl having fun with horoscopes and fortune tellers.)

Each god can also be found in the stars. When we're born, we're born under their sign. That god influences and guides us through life and using those attributes... we can see what the future has in store for us. In the old days people used it to determine which areas to study or what jobs to seek out. S-some people still do.
( A pause, )
But these days... it's m-most popular for compatibility readings. Everyone dreams of finding their perfect match.

Sooner or later everything gets turned to finding a partner. "I'll pick my own field of study and job, but the gods are the only ones who can find the person I'll spend my life with so I better use these ancient and respected forms of magic and divination that were once used to win battles to find a mate."
[Look, it's hilarious to him.]
How do you determine which start you were born under?
no subject
Or rather... I-I think when it comes to finding your calling, that sort of thing feels natural but when it comes to the heart... it's a little more difficult to figure out on your own...
( Speaking from experience? Maybe. She's such a shy girl, things like romance send her into a fluster. )
In Hoshido, we use the day and month you were born. ( And because she's not a fool, she can see where this is going, ) Uhm... a-are you interested in trying...?

The horse. ( She says it confidently because she knows exactly which sign Leo is. ) It's a popular sign.
Those born under it are usually regarded as beautiful people. They're quick witted, perceptive, and intelligent, the type that can see a situation and turn it to their advantage. Some may think they're stubborn but they're quite changeable-- they just stand by their ideals. They can be sharp tongued towards people but surprisingly gentle among those close to them. However, they can be quite stubborn, fickle, rude, and... a-arrogant...
( Uhm. Her voice trails towards the end because it sure does sound like she's calling Leo those things. )
Of course...! N-not everything is true! Even if we're born under a set star, y-your path is yours to choose...!
no subject
I mean, except for fickle and maybe arrogant that does sound a lot like me.

It... it certainly sounds like a better match than s-some people. ( Like herself but she won't get into that. ) Uhm...
They're also rather optimistic and warm people, usually. ( She won't say too much there. The Leo she'd known when they first met wouldn't have fit that at all but knowing Leo better than she had before, she might be biased in thinking Leo is much warmer than he initially let's on. ) Like I said, it's a popular sign. I think.... many people we be happy to be born under it.
( To have a son born under such a strong sign. Looking down at her table, she moves some charts around. There's the sound of paper shifting and scrolls unraveling, )
Your best match would be... a tiger, rabbit, or ram. The dragon, dog, and monkey are also acceptable. I think... this is a boar? You'll accomplish great things with a boar. And while it isn't romantic, you can trust any snake as a dear friend.

[Leo checks some dates.]
December twenty-fifth?
[Not exactly Aymeric's birthday, but close enough.]
no subject
( Give her a moment to double-check. She has an idea given the signs of the people close to her but it doesn't hurt to make sure when faced with a different date, )
The rat. It's similar to the horse in many ways but whereas the horse is known more for it's energy and intelligence... the rat is ambitious and cunning. Adaptable, intelligent, observant, and outgoing but also careful and ever alert. The rat will always be the first to know things and instead of sharing with others, he'll make use of the things he's learned. The rat can be shy and timid or stubborn and quick to complain.
( She's quiet for a moment, wondering how to proceed next. Why would Leo ask for this date specifically? There aren't many reasons and she think she understands, )
... Because the rat is so similar to the horse... they're considered a p-poor match. Together, they're sharp with their words a-and reluctant to compromise. They'll always fight and pick at each other's faults until they build a distance between them...
But if I may say... even if this is true, I've seen the horse and rat get along before, e-even when everyone else thought it was impossible. ( Looking up from her charts, ) You're friends w-with Takumi, after all.
no subject
And unlike with me, it sounds nothing like Aymeric. A lot like Takumi, though.
no subject
It does... I-I think it's a good sign for Takumi. I'm sure the court diviners were pleased for him. But... Takumi always wished he was something else...
( She frowns. And certainly, the sign he wanted most would have been a good one for him too. Much better than for herself. )
no subject
[He may be one of his best friends, but Leo knows Takumi has...issues.]
What sign are you?
no subject
The same as big brother... ( She won't say his name over the network in case he sees it, but after mentioning Takumi, there's really only one other person... ) ... The dragon.
( She's probably one of the most ill-matched people to be born, to be honest. )
no subject
What are they like?
no subject
Inspiring, ambitious... decisive. ( They're off to a great start already. ) Wild, short-tempered, and rude.
At their best, they're powerful leaders and at worst... they're cruel tyrants. But a good dragon.... e-even with all of his power, he's merciful and benevolent, sensitive to those on earth, even if he himself is a heavenly creature. There's an old story about the ten gods in Hoshido to explain their order...
A long time ago, the King invited the ten gods to a great banquet. Though the Dragon could fly swiftly through the sky, he arrived fifth. The king asked him why he arrived so late despite his advantage... and the Dragon explained on his way to the capital, he'd found the Rabbit floating in the river on a log. Because the Dragon was kind, he used his breath to blow the Rabbit to shore, letting him win fourth place instead when he could have left the Rabbit on his own.
( Quietly, )
It's an auspicious sign... the one said to be best for kings.
( Like Ryoma. )

Well, hopefully that means good things for you in the future, Lady Sakura.
