I have a question for the other gods here.

Well, two questions, really.

First - do you prefer to introduce yourself by your given name or your god name?

And second - was anyone else called here to fill in for a god of the opposite gender? I'm having trouble deciding whether I should be calling myself the god or goddess of beauty and wealth.

I've always used the name my followers have chosen to call me. Before I came to this land, it was Vaisravana. Before that, Kuvera. As the people of this nation have chosen to call me Bishamon, it is how I introduce myself.

I understand this might not be the case for those who arrive here but I thought you might want to hear from a native.

A native? So you were a goddess to begin with? This all must be rather odd for you, then...

That's right.

Though I wouldn't call it odd insomuch as unexpected. You can imagine these new gods coming in is concerning for us as we hardly have any answers as to how and why this is happening.

I take it you've just arrived?

Even you don't know? That is strange...

And yes, just the other day. It shows, doesn't it?

It is. Needless to say answers haven't been as obvious as most of us would have liked.

Please don't think questions are unwelcome. Even if you're new, we'd like to make sure you're as comfortable as possible. After all, this is probably where you'll be staying for quite some time.

I'll answer them as best I can.

You did say you were named Lakshimi, didn't you?

That's right. Are you familiar with the original Lakshmi?

In a way, you can say I am. I did identify myself as once being known as Vaisravana. But that was a long time ago, from a much earlier time than when I arrived in Japan.

What is she like? Is there anything I should know? I want to make sure I'm upholding her legacy appropriately.

[dominatriarch]

I think you'll do just fine. Of course, I can't help but wonder how she is if you're here.

Of course, I mean no offense with that. It's just something to think about in light of what's going on.

I understand completely. I've wondered that myself, but the answers are likely beyond us.

[dominatriarch]

They are but rest assured, you are amongst those eager to find answers as you are. Perhaps someday, we'll find them as well as a way to send you all back to your respective homes.

I hope so. I'm sure the displaced gods miss their home as much as I do.

Provided they still exist.

But while we were discussing names, would you rather be referred to as Lakshimi or do you have another name you'd rather be known by?

Oh! Yes, that's right. My real name is Forrest.
