Futaba and her temple have both gone missing. I figure there are probably people who'd want to know, but with her tendency to be as reclusive as she was, not everyone may have found out right away.

I know I haven't been here that long so does that mean she's disappeared from here? What exactly does that mean? Is she back in her own world?

I guess so? When a god disappears, their temple goes with them. She's probably gone back to what she was doing before she got here.

How do we know that's what happens when someone disappears? Do people go away and sometimes come back?

Sometimes, yeah. You'd probably have more luck asking someone else about it if you want to know more. I've only ever really seen it happen with other shinki.

So it's rare? It doesn't happen with gods?

[ Hah, he kind of wishes he could always talk this bravely even face to face and not just in text. ]

It probably happens about as often with gods, I don't see why it wouldn't just none that I've ever talked to personally.

[Alas... at least he's holding a pretty steady conversation now. There's a lot to be said for that, right?]

I had no idea. I haven't looked up enough things. Is it in any book?

[ A lot to be said? Yeah, maybe he should become a hikikomori and only talk to people through text. ]

I know there's a library with a lot of information, but it's supposed to be kind of a hassle to get through, and whether or not they'd actually have any books on 'new shinki and gods' is kind of up in the air. We're a pretty new and weird phenomena to this place.

But, you might have more luck if you search through old network posts. I don't think a lot of people have been particularly shy about letting people know when someone's gone missing.

How new are the 'new' gods and shinki? A few years? Decades? I will spend more time in the library, books are good and mostly safe if bad people don't get their hands on the wrong books.

I've been here for about nine months, but I know there are some people who have been around longer than that. I'd guess the new gods and shinki would have shown up roughly a year ago. There's probably some kind of interesting info in the library, even if you don't find much about us.

I don't see why it would be.

Oh! That's a long time! Have you adjusted? I haven't been here a long time and it's hard to adjust sometimes.

I guess so, yeah. There's a lot to get used to, but I can imagine it's probably a lot more jarring for gods than shinki, since we don't really know anything past being here.

Are you okay? You don't have to answer if you're not comfortable with it, I just thought I should ask.

It's not the first time this has happened. I'll be fine.

[ He'd offer comfort but he's not very good at it, and his hugs are bony. ]

[ He does work in health care so he kinda just adds some basics just in case. He's been sad and forgotten to take care of himself before. ]

[That's fine, Keith's not big on hugs in general. It all works out.

He does have to stop himself with replying back something along the lines of 'shinki don't actually need to eat/sleep', he knows from experience that a remark like that doesn't usually get taken very well. Won't stop him from thinking it, but he knows he really should be taking care of himself.]

I've got somewhere to go, so I'll be fine.

[He's sure Yoon won't let him not watch after his own health.]

Thanks. I know the temple grounds are big, but I’m sure I’d be able to figure out something to do with Red if you couldn’t spare the space. [Probably just keep the lion parked where it had been the past few days.]

[ Keith had been so open to the idea before. What had changed? ]

Not really. I did look around a little to see if I could tell what happened. [Or even how long the temple might have been gone versus how long he’d been asleep... but, no real luck there.] Looks like it’s the same as when Lance’s temple disappeared, though. Everything’s just gone.

At least you didn't get dumped at someone's temple randomly, right?

[ Like how he ended up at Lance's temple. Granted, that's how he met Keith, so he's not bitter in hindsight, but that was certainly a rocky start. ]

Sorry, by the way, that you have to go looking again.

[No, that’s completely fair and he understands. Getting dropped off at Lance’s temple of all places is worth at least some degree of bitterness.]

[ She does manage to see this before his conversation with Yoon finishes, so she's aware even before her shinki comes to her with the news. That doesn't mean that she's not upset on behalf of the other shinki. ]

And of course that's not a problem. You - and Red - are always welcome here. Although you're sleeping inside this time and not in your cat, because otherwise Yoon will be ranting for a week over it. I'll make sure there's a bedroom ready.

You don't need to do anything for me in return. You're a friend, and you've been a good friend to Yoon for even longer. Our friends are always welcome here, and will always have a place to stay.

[That shouldn't be too surprising of an answer - she'd given him a similar sentiment before. He still feels like it's a bit... unfair for him to keep taking advantage of her hospitality without doing something in return, but that's just something he'll have to figure out on his own, it looks like.]
