[ Yata's video feed snaps on late one evening, connecting him to the BBS, whether he'd intended that to happen or not - although from the surprise on his face and his sudden blinking at the glare of the screen that pops up from his watch, it's probably more likely not. But whatever he'd been trying to do, now that the connection is made, there's a look of both stark relief and very much freaking out obviously occurring here.

When he starts talking, his voice is barely above a whisper and it's obvious he's hiding somewhere in the dark. Maybe a closet? ]

Shit, guys, there's something weird as shit going on down here. I thought I'd help out with a prayer that sounded easy enough, some old dude who kept losing stuff or some shit... [ Yata, how much had you even paid attention to what was on that prayer? Obviously not enough. ]

Except when I got here, the house is empty and all this weird shit is happening and there are like... [ He stops abruptly, his eyes darting to something in the distance, and even in the video feed, the loud sound of footsteps can be heard echoing through the house. ] That keeps happening and I swear to god - gods? - there's no one else in this house and I don't know what the hell is going on. Did anyone else hear anything weird happening down-

[ And then there's a sudden distant crash and his eyes dart away again before he gets a curse half-uttered and the screen goes black. ]

[Even if Izumo sounds amused by it.

Still, with the borderline down, he's quick to rend the ayakashi just as it jumps at them.]

[ He sputters. ]

I'm not sulking! [ A pause, because even if he can't hear him... ] Shut up, Saru!

[Izumo is the only person who gets to hear Fushimi chuckle as they rend the ayakashi to bits.]

[His lips quirk up in amusement.

And with the ayakashi now gone:]

Return, Fushimi.

[ Yata watches as they rend it before crossing his arms over his chest and looking away. ]

Thanks. [ There's another long pause before he adds, ] Sorry.

[monkeyblue]

[Fushimi returns, looking a little paler than he had before.]

Tch, you wouldn't be Misaki if you didn't do something reckless like this and make me worry.

['Me'. Not 'Izumo'. Not 'us'. 'Me'.]

[The god spares Fushimi a quick glance, taking note of how pale he looks.

Then he looks back at Yata.

Please don't start being gross, you two.]

Just remember to bring someone along with you next time. [Yet, knowing Yata, he's likely to pull something like this again.]

[ Yata hasn't missed how pale he looks either, and that just makes him feel guiltier. But he just glances up at Izumo and nods, expression uncommonly serious. ]

Yeah, how about I just skip next time entirely instead? [ He sighs before glancing around him. ] You two better get back to resting. I'll... finish up here. At least the damn thing is gone now. Saru looks like he's about to fall over.

I do not.

[He kind of does.]

There might be more. I'm staying.

[Izumo is quiet for a moment.]

Since we're all here, might as well just finish it together.

[Because he knows Fushimi won't leave Yata.

Izumo is fine with letting his shinki do most of the work here, but he'll stick around just in case.]

[ Yata just grumbles under his breath at that before turning to reach out and nudge both Saru and Izumo towards the living room, herding them both towards a couch. Which is mostly unscathed despite the time he'd spent hiding behind it at one point. ]

Fine, but dammit at least sit down. I can get the rest of it. it was my damn mess in the first place.

If I don't, are you going to sulk?

[But he's going.]

He just might.

[Izumo sighs as he's herded to the couch.]

It doesn't matter, because you are. Sit there and at least pretend you're freaking resting for a while, would you?

[ He's going to kick them if they don't shut up. But for the moment he ignores their commentary as he makes sure they sit down before stomping back to the hallway, muttering under his breath the entire time. ]

I rest when you're home!

[Just saying.]

[Izumo snickers.]

Don't sulk too much, Yata. [He can feel that irritation. It's really too amusing.]

[ Izumo probably can feel the irritation, but whether he can guess where - or who - it's directed at is another matter entirely.

For once, Yata doesn't even bother to snark back, instead turning his attention to cleaning up the mess the ayakashi had made all over the house while pursuing him, pitting himself against the task with a fierce scowl.

Maybe if he's lucky he'll even find those things the old man lost that brought him here to begin with... ]

[As Fushimi sits down, he pops back up and starts digging in the sofa]

Misaki, what did the old man say he lost?

[Can Izumo just let you two do the work?

Though he is glancing over at Yata as he waits for his response.]

[ Yata's voice comes from the hallway. ]

Umm. It was some heirloom or keepsake or something. I think it was a pocketwatch? Something left to him by his grandfather and it was something he intended to pass down to his grandson, too... I didn't even have a chance to look for it before that thing came after me.

Okay.

[Fushimi holds up the pocketwatch he'd nearly sat on.]

Because it was in the sofa.

...

[He holds back a chuckle.]

Well, that didn't take long.

[ Yata's head just pokes back around the corner of the hallway, his eyes wide in disbelief. ]

Are you fucking with...

[ He spots the pocketwatch that Saru dangles in his hand before glaring at him, too. ]

I hate you.
