[Tsuzuki's smile suggests he's not objecting too much, though. He shrugs.]

Glad I helped, if I did.

I guess you could say that.

[He likes to spread smiles, mostly. And there's always something warming about flattering people, even putting aside his weird enjoyment of thrill and chase.]

You have, I mean it. Even now, I'll have to try hopping from temple to temple, won't I? Maybe I'll meet some new faces.

Yeah, I bet you will. I mean, be careful, though! Just in case.

[...he clears his throat a little nervously.]

Especially around Susano'o.

Does every one of your well wishes come with a warning?

[Should he rethink the things he's saying he wants to do? Goodness. He smiles over his cup.] What is it this time? Susano'o?

Not all of them! [Uh... is that true?

Maybe there are just a lot of things that can go wrong here. Tsuzuki sighs, deflating.]

Susano'o's the god of storms. He's kind of got a temper. I interrupted him working on a spell a while ago and he came pretty close to biting my arm off.

Ruined my coat, too! I had to buy a new one.

Hahaha! My, that sounds like a thrilling encounter if there ever was one. Maybe I'll have to say hello even more, now.

[Jae-Ha........] But is he beautiful?

Did you miss the bit where he almost took my arm off, or are you just into that kind of thing?

[... "Beautiful"?? Okay, Jae-Ha, you're just weird. Tsuzuki looks more than a little concerned.]

Is it wrong to be intrigued? He sounds powerful. Strength like that isn't easy to come by.

[sweetdeath]

I mean, I don't know if I'd say wrong, but... seriously? Attacking people with no reason isn't about being strong.

[He hunches his shoulders up, looking a little distressed.]

[razzledazzles]

No, but if I remember right, you said you interrupted his work.

[That's a fair reason to snap! Maybe not so excessively, but he'll judge if he ever meets the guy.] Don't worry. I don't take kindly to unusual cruelty. But a little pain isn't so bad in the long run...

[sweetdeath]

Saw! I saw his work. I was just walking by, and I tried to leave in a hurry, but he caught me and roughed me up.

[He slumps down a few more inches, pulling a sad face.]

... I still don't know what he was doing. Something about it looked weird, but I didn't recognize any of the symbols.

[razzledazzles]

Oh, so it was exceptionally suspicious. [He raises his index finger.]

You should be careful yourself, Tsuzuki. If you want, you can call me for help from now on!

[sweetdeath]

I healed! But ... okay.

... what kinds of things can you do? In a fight, I mean.

[razzledazzles]

I'm fast, powerful, and I've got great aim with throwing knives. My strength lies in my kicks!

[He drinks more of his sake, setting it down afterwards with a proud sigh.] Somehow, I can remember all of this just fine.

[sweetdeath]

Wow. Okay, I'll have to call! Haha, unless it's something too big and strong to kick.

[He lets the worry melt away from his face, and gives Jae-Ha a cheerful grin instead.]

Shinki seem to remember all the things they can do! Or at least how to do them. It's just the... the personal stuff.

[razzledazzles]

You won't have to worry about that. I have the confidence that I could kick through anything!

[So, it's fine!] I won't complain. It's convenient to not have to learn this over again.

[sweetdeath]

...Yeah. It'd just be too much, if shinki had to learn all of that all over again, too.

[He sighs, propping his chin on his hand.]

It still doesn't seem fair. There's no real difference between who gets picked as a god and who's a shinki.

[razzledazzles]

Eh? Really? Now that you bring it up, before you told me about yourself just now, I was thinking that all gods were alive where they came from...

[That was the case with the others he knew.]

[sweetdeath]

Uh uh, not all of us. And not all shinki -- I mean. You know I mentioned Hisoka before, right? He's my partner. When we first got here, he was a shinki, but he came back as a god. So there's really no difference.

[He lets his hand fall to the bar, and glances down at his drink, smile dropping off his face.]

[razzledazzles]

That's right...

[Could his memories have been saved if he were a god, instead? But the more he thinks on it, the more it feels like he couldn't have been. This strange leg of his and this feeling in his chest— everything was telling him that he was destined to follow someone else.

As much as he hates that feeling... Yona is someone that needs to be protected, right?]

Someone always loses out. That's life, isn't it?

[sweetdeath]

Maybe. Just because life isn't fair doesn't mean we have to be okay with it, though.

[Tsuzuki frowns, drawing abstract swirls in the condensation on the side of his glass with a fingertip. Life's not fair. It's just arbitrary. It's just... why would he be picked for godhood? It doesn't make sense.

It's probably a mistake. Who knows, maybe he's going to come back as a shinki one of these days. He sighs.]

[razzledazzles]

Ahh, I knew we were similar spirits!

[In an attempt to lighten the atmosphere and share his own feelings, he wraps an arm loosely around Tsuzuki and holds his sake glass closer with a smile.]

You don't! You certainly don't! Fight against fate with all you have, and live by your morals and dreams! Isn't that freedom? I won't let some lost memories hold me back, so you shouldn't let them get you down, either.

[sweetdeath]

[Tsuzuki blinks, startled, as Jae-Ha throws an arm around his shoulders, but he leans willingly into the half-hug.]

Yeah, I guess so!

[razzledazzles]

Everyone handles it differently, but gods have their own weights to carry.

[He can't imagine being responsible for shinki, or being connected to their feelings as they are, or so on.]

[sweetdeath]

And we'll do our best to take care of you guys, too.

[Tsuzuki gives him a tipsily sweet smile, and reaches for his own drink again.]
