Okay, so! After that post yesterday I've been thinking. What about shinki who don't remember their birthday?

I think, if we don't remember our birthday, we should get to pick one that suits us! You know, to be fair. Everybody deserves a party.

I think I'm totally a Leo. Or an Aries! Or -- hey, what's the sign for people born about now? If I'm gonna get cake, I don't want to wait all year.

No I thought it was the same every year. Just each month of the year is different.

No, no! It's just that's what I thought you were saying. See, the Chinese zodiac has twelve animals and five elements, and every year is a new animal and a new element, separately.

It used to be that the hours each had their own animal too, but pretty much no one uses the old time system anymore.

Well you said each hour had an animal in the past, so I was wondering if that was 12 hours of the day or 24 hours of the day. Sorry I wasn't clearer!

Oh! Oh, I get it. No, it was still 12 animals, but different hours than the 24 hour day. Six while the sun was up and six while it was down!
