so as I have come to understand it in many places in the world it is possible for two men to get married
and its strange because that kind of thing should be a bit of a moot point for us here in the Heavens right?
i mean most of us dont have much in the way of family here so whose name you pick things like that
it doesnt matter so much
and a material or political union isnt very likely either

it seems to me like it is frequently used as a proof of love too
but i dont feel like either of us need to prove anything because we know

so its strange but... its still a very appealing thought



i bet that it might be a bit of a problem between a shinki and a god though

I know love marriages aren't the norm everywhere, and haven't always been even in the places where they are, but it's still a bit strange to me to think of getting married for any other reason.

Even if you don't need to prove it, it seems like it could be sort of... I don't know, a nice gesture?

i mean if there is anyone i would like to have a home with it would be him

You can't ever put it entirely into words. The words themselves are a symbol for everything greater that lies beneath them. But words are important too.

If there's no material or political gain to marriage here, then the only real purpose is to make you happy.
If you think it will accomplish that, then there's no reason not to do it. I don't see how one of you being a god should stand in the way particularly.

quite a few people think its inappropriate for shinki and gods to have relationships so getting married might possibly be worse

It may be worth discussing with him. You should take whatever opportunities you have to make yourselves happy in this life.

The relationship may be considered taboo by some people here, but you're already going in defiance of them by being together. You may as well go all the way, if you're going to go at all.

Viktor wasn't too concerned with the poster's identity, and didn't even try to put the pieces together. Instead, he just replied.

But weddings are so fun! And they're such a great way to have a party.

Which was valid, but...well. Not the point, Viktor.

I think they're a good way to form a partnership and at least show your love. Even if you don't need to prove it, it can be nice to reaffirm your feelings, I think. I arrived here with a wedding ring on a chain around my neck, so I assume I was married in my life before. Of course I can't remember who I might have been married to, but I really hope we had a nice wedding and loved each other very much.

Who knew what the point was? Viktor never really had any idea. He just liked to talk. Tangents were sort of his specialty.

If you'd love it then you should have one! I can help you plan it out. If you think your love might be all right with it, that is.

The rings are a really old custom, I remember this from my life before coming here. I had it explained to me once that they symbolize the love having no beginning and no end, and they're usually gold because the love you share with your spouse is a treasure. The rings are meant to remind you of that, and to show to others that you're married and not interested in being pursued! I really like how that sounds even if it's a bit idealistic.

Whether or not it's allowed for mortals, I think as a god you might choose to say that you had married anyone you liked.

At least it is not a bull, or a bird, or for that matter a tree.

I have heard that the Heavens frown on that sort of a relationship between god and shinki, though.
