Yeah, it happens from time to time.

I wonder if it had anything to do with what caused all the trouble before the fire. And if so then yeah, we probably missed something.

You sure these were charms for luck? If the building caught fire it suggests kind of the opposite.

Sure, why not? Sometimes words can have different meanings. [ Ansuz rune could help with communication for example. Or set things on fire. ] Other times it doesn't matter what is written, but what was used to make the charm. That, and intent, of course

I'm not native to this land and traditions, so take it as you will.

Maybe only a part of the word was an active spell? I'm pretty sure I could hide a rune in "get better" card's text that would cause it to explode.

Depends on the alphabet used, language. Or maybe the written part was irrelevant.

Hard to say, I wasn't here yet.

Just how many people died?

[ Straight to the point and asking the important question ]

A lot of broken water pipes and bad plumbing, but nothing like that.
It could have been something less common that they can't immediately think of.

If you still have that charm, I suggest you find a way to dispose of it safely.

That depends on if it gets clogged or flooded. There were both sorts around the place.
It might just be built in the wrong place.

Yeah, maybe. There are a lot of stories about burial grounds or places where murders have happened or murder victims have been secretly buried being haunted and causing trouble when buildings are built on top of them.

It's not unreasonable, though.
But I think that it would only transfer if we brought something from what causes hauntings with us, or if we really angered whatever was there. It's probably too busy with the building to care about us once we've left.
I mean, if that even is what's going on. It's just a theory.

what sort of charm was it? There have been other charms around at times so there's a chance it was similar to those. Though it it was in the building it might not be entirely related.

And to be honest, it might just be ayakashi, or it could be a combination, or something.

Was it old or new? How was it stuck up and how long do you think it was there for? Was there any dust on it?
