Heaven's BBS | Audio
From: Lavi

[Morning, Far Shore.
It's rare to see Lavi post up on the BBS when it isn't under anonymous, but after waking up from a wonderful sleep and regaining a memory, maybe it's time to greet the morning with a song, don't you think?
So, Lavi starts to sing the song that's been in his mind all day (and yes, he is a lovely singer, okay). It goes on for a few verses before he abruptly stops and then:]
Anyone wouldn't happen to recognize that, would they? It's been stuck in my head all morning and it's beginning to get annoying.

Video would be a bad idea for a multitude of reasons. He could probably still read the tenseness in her voice, however. ]
Lavi, where did you—
[ That was the song Allen played that day. The last day they spent together in Caissa. But how did he—
Ah. That had to be it. Should she pry? She really shouldn't, but at the same time...
It's quiet; not accusatory, but cautious. Guarded. ]
...I've never heard that song sung before.
private
On the other hand, she did and he noticed the slip.
Things would have gone a lot more smoothly if he hadn't remembered Allen being there on the Ark when the song was first played.]
I say you're a liar. [The slip is called out, but his tone isn't accusatory itself. It's blunt as if a fact was said instead.]
You recognize the song.
private
She was hiding something, but not that. It isn't what she said, it's what she didn't ]
I never said I didn't recognize it.
[ Agentle sigh huffing into the receiver, and a rustle of movement as she adjusts—places her hand near her mouth and speaks low. Like she doesn't want to be heard. Pausing and choosing her words carefully, she speaks clearly. Thinking back on that night, as she watched his gloved hands dance over black and ivory keys like a man possessed; strangely at peace, but conflicted at the same time.
Don't misunderstand, Lavi.
Don't misunderstand and don't press. ]
I've heard it played before. ...A long time ago. I never knew that it was meant to be a lullaby.
private forever?
Well, the redhead always did live his life in the most troublesome of ways.
This is no different.
At the same time, he knows better than to actually press her since he's not sure what she remembers and how much of it she can properly recall.]
...It's not the usual sort of lullaby. Definitely not one someone should sing their child to sleep with, anyway.

That makes a little sense... I think most lullabies sound a little sad.

[It really is, but Lavi pauses briefly.]
Hey, Deku, you wouldn't happen to know if there's a place with a piano around here, would you?

[It is a lovely song, and Lavi has a pleasant singing voice, but Hakkai has to admit that it's rare to see him post.
Somehow, he doubts it's just to have someone help him identify a song.]
no subject
[Lavi very well knows who can play this song.
So, Hakkai isn't completely wrong there.]

[He pauses, and adds:]
How have you been?

[a.k.a Allen Walker.
But the question has him going quiet a bit.]
I've been doing better. Movements are still limited, so I can't still move as much as I'd like to on some days.

How beautiful. ( Being a musician herself, she can't help but wonder how it would sound on koto. ) I didn't know you could sing.
... But I'm sorry, I don't know the song.

[He pauses a bit.]
That's alright. I'm sure I'll manage to find someone who does. [If that someone decides to pop up. Lavi chose to go a public route today than private just to see how that person will react.]

This really isn't something to be smug about, Lavi. ]
You already know the answer to that, don't you?
