[ It's early in the morning when his device starts buzzing, the vibration tips it over on the coffee table and turning on the recorder showing Mikoto sprawled out on the couch, a hand carelessly thrown over his face as he ignores the buzzing when something odd suddenly starts playing: ]

[ Midway through, a sleepy-faced Mikoto stirs awake and just stares at the thing with uncomprehending eyes and when it starts to loop in an endless cycle, red suddenly spreads across his body and the lazy god turns around, facing the couch, curling in on himself as he lets out a flood of that red aura knocking down the device, tv and just about everything in the basement as he goes back to sleep as the recording goes dark. ]

[ He shrugs, as he reaches for a cigarette and slips it into his mouth. He lights it with his aura and takes a drag. He's content as things are for a while, his eyes watching Yata at work until he notices just how many dishes he was making. ]

How many people you plan on feeding?

[thevanguard]

Just you. [ He shrugs in answer, before glancing around at the assembled ingredients, systematically going through preparation for each dish. The rice is set to cook, the soup simmering, and he goes to work on the fish and omelet. ]

And me, I guess, if you don't mind company. There'll probably be some leftovers for later, too, if you get hungry?

[lionhearrt]

[ He nods. ]

I'll set the table.

[ Because setting a table is one of the few things he was used to doing around the kitchen, but that's still a ways from now, so for now, he'll finish his smoke in silence. ]

So. Do I get to ask how old you are?

[ He shoots this question at the god with a cheeky grin as he works. ]

...Do gods even age?

[ You don't have to tell him that. He is one now, remember? He doesn't even know when his birthday is. Was? ]

Mmmm, really? [ He squints curiously at that before going back to cooking, falling into the rhythm of it as he focuses. Soon the different parts of the meal are coming together and he starts distributing the food onto plates, more than enough for the both of them. Other than one of the fish getting a little darker than he'd intended, it comes out looking better than he expected and he beams as he starts carrying plates to the table. ]

[ But instead of pointing it out, he's going to point to a chair and- ]

Sit down and eat.

[thevanguard]

[ Mikoto. Have you ever known Yata to not get carried away?

What's the point of doing anything if you're not going to dive in head-first?

But he does drop his ass onto the empty chair Mikoto motions to once he gets the food carried over to the table. ]

Yeah, yeah, I'm getting there. [ He waits until Mikoto takes a bite, though, watching him hopefully. ] It's okay?
