So last I knew, it was 2001. Because I know how the world works, I know there's *definitely* been movies, TV shows, music, comics, all kinds of things created since then. I don't care about the garbage though - I want to know about the best of the best that's happened in the last couple of years.
Okay and if you have the misfortune to have been born pre... steam engines and light bulbs let's say, how in the name of every god here did you entertain yourselves back then? I guess there's always musical theater and like... Virgil kind of poetry. Was that it?

Pros are the best by definition, but those kinds of pros... something different about that kind of work. They have to try and get inside people's heads even though they can't.
That would explain it. Next time I'm bored, kabuki show. Grotesque and revenge and scandalous and tragedy and intrigue is right up my alley.

They manage well enough, as I recall. Admittedly, it's been some years since I paid them any attention.
You ought to give it a try, if that sort of thing appeals. I don't know all of the plays they have right now, but I'm doing some research, and it looks like Yotsuya Kaidan is still a popular one to stage. Plenty of grisly revenge for you there.

Ah, something changed - settle down finally? Poor man.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm keeping an eye out for that one.

[Somehow, somehow, he manages to avoid making a joke about how it's funny he should mention "eyes out", which seems like it would ruin a bit of the shock factor for someone who hasn't seen how grotesque Oiwa's stage makeup can get in some productions.]
Do. I think you'll enjoy it.
Well now I know what I'm doing for an open log - or one prompt in it
Hah, would you like a review afterwards?

Why not? I might be interested in seeing a show now and then, if the theatres they've got these days are any good.

Look forward to it then. I'll check back in over here. Yours has been the most interesting suggestion so far by a long shot.

Glad to be of service.
