This morning I was woken up by my dear Inoshishi no Ino nuzzling his face into to my armpit. What a wonderful awakening, today is simply the best day!

Hajime, Sheryl Nome, isn't he every bit as cute as I said he was? (*/∇＼*)

But you told someone else, he's a pet from home?
It looks like two other people have just had pets (using the term loosely) suddenly appear also. Do you have any idea who would have done this or why?

He is! I know it's hard to believe, but he responds to his name and is insistently affectionate, just the way I remember him being (especially if I had left him alone for a while).

I don't know who, or why, or how, but I've been missing him quite a bit lately. The Heavens had the power to bring all of us here, do you think it could have been them?

I suppose that's as possible as anything. Would have been nice if they'd said something first though.

To be fair, has the Heavens done anything properly? At least since we've started showing up. I know it's unfair to judge, since I've only been here about three weeks, but it seems like the bureaucracy has spiraled out of control, and the left hand no longer knows what the right hand is doing.

I'm not going to defend heaven on the moves they make. They've done enough that my god and I can't agree with.
But if they are the ones that gave you your pet back, you can be a bit thankful, right?

Oh no, don't get me wrong, I'm entirely grateful. I am actually probably one of the few people who don't mind being here in the least. I know it sounds like I'm being critical, but I've been around politics enough to know that, well, this is unfortunately just how bureaucracy works.

I'm just pointing out that not only is it entirely possible that they have done this without thinking through all the details, it wouldn't be all that surprising.

I see what you mean. Actually, I'm glad to hear that. (About you not minding being here, that is. I'm sure it'll make everything go smoother for you.)

About bureaucracy though, that sucks. I guess it's not much different here in the end.

As annoying as dealing with the Heavens seems to be, in all other areas, I would say my life has significantly improved in the last three weeks. Any criticism you hear from me really is just going to be the sort of grousing you get from exasperated employees.

It's just the nature of the beast. The more layers of communication you have to go through, the more muddled things get, after all.

Um. I do have one small question.

My shinki and I work very well together in combat, but I was just sort of wondering... How well bonded are god and shinki pairs expected to be? I feel a bit like I'm not doing enough for Ekko, but he hasn't really complained about anything either.

[Okay, he complains a lot, but usually just about the usual teenager things, and not about whether or not Sonic's doing a good job as a god]

I think the expectation is just that you're at least getting along decently.

I've seen relationships like they're at an office and I've seen relationships where they are practically married. I've only started 'getting along' with my god recently. [Yukine stabbed him up with a broken bottle not all that long ago...]

There is a shinki labor standards inspection office, if things get too out of hand, but you're probably fine.

I don't think things will get out of hand. Ekko may be a smart-ass, but his confidence and wit is what I like about him. I just wanted to be sure I wasn't failing to attend to all his needs.

Have you tried just... sitting quietly and waiting for him to say something, even after he's blown you off?

That's about where we are right now. u_u I suppose it's better to let him do his own thing for now. I'll wait a little while longer.
