[ Optimism doesn't determine who is kind and who is not. Tatara could be a massive pessimist and still be gentle and empathetic as ever. But it's kindness that leads someone to open their arms to another when they're hurting.

And when Tatara hurts, that's what Bandou does.

It's unfamiliar, sure -- to both of them, really. They'd never made a habit of physical contact before, to say the least. In fact, the elder is hard-pressed to think of a single time they'd even touched beyond casual, incidental bumping. But familiar or no, in this moment, it's exactly what he needs.

So Tatara breathes out and lets himself simply be there, eventually hooking his own arms around Bandou's waist. He just needs a minute, that's all. ]
