I haven't been here long but my god vanished before I ever got to meet him which makes me wonder: what the hell is a shinki good for? What are we supposed to do? Is there any point in serving a god if they can just vanish?

Without us, gods cannot defeat the evil that creeps into the heavens and taints the mortal world. The fact we can be of service to any gods makes us important. Though our destinies are aligned, our purposes are very different. Even without the gods we exist and will continue onward until such a time as our duty is done.
