So a friend told me that shinki can go off on their own somehow. Like if their god doesn’t like them or something. But also that people get, like, upset about it for some reason.

[ Which doesn’t make sense to him at all. But maybe he’s being closed-minded about this. Either way, it doesn’t hurt to ask, right? ]

How does that happen? And why do people get upset?

I was just in the right place at the right time to save a couple of great goddesses.

Man... that's gotta be awesome! So like, you saved them, and they made you theirs, or what?

Kinda the other way around. I found 'em being attacked by ayakashi without their shinki around and asked 'em to name me so I could help. And then we just kept workin' together. I never regretted it for a second, even after two of 'em disappeared. The point is, do what you think is right and don't worry about what anybody else thinks.

Ah, huh... the reverse of what happened to me.

I wonder why Riku didn't name me then so I could help. Maybe he knew all along that I'm not good with combat stuff...

Riku? No way! He saved me from one of those aya-what-zi way back when!

Nope, he didn't name me. We became friends though!

I didn't know I could ask him for one! But... it doesn't matter anyway. He disappeared.

Yeah... I thought for a while they were just joking, but I haven't seen him since. Heavy stuff, man. Huge bummer!

So you got a new god in mind, or are you just stickin' it out on your own for now?

Nah... I'll have to ask one of my god friends if they wanna.

That's all it takes, right? Asking one god to remove your name, then another if they wanna give you one?
