[Rin looks over while Sousuke walks to the bridge and as he does it seems like one of the swans is comfortable enough to paddle along after him. They're probably bound to this place, this castle... even to Rin himself. Can't imagine how that would work out, but those are all thoughts for another time. For now he's content to watch and even fool himself into thinking this is all a different reality. They aren't in heaven, nobody's dead or forgotten. They're just as they've always been, standing together on a lazy afternoon...
Hearing Sousuke sigh breaks the illusion though and Rin bites his lip, because he knows what he's thinking. He knows his god's being vague. He knows he's holding information from him for their safety. And really, he wants to tell him more. Every detail, every memory...]
Yeah. It was.
[he pauses before adding,]
My dad was a fisherman before he passed.
[Rin soon follows after him, stepping up onto the bridge to fold his arms over the railing too and stare down at their reflections between the swans. He laughs, but only a little... It's bittersweet.]
I loved it. I still do. ... But I had dreams to follow.
