(disclaimer, Xehanort's ideas on things may not quite line up with canon meta-information!)

That's exactly right, though less 'planet' and more 'realm' I suppose. Imagine this city is a world unto itself. Not a planet, but the city, and surrounding it are impenetrable barriers on all sides. Through this barrier you can see other worlds, be they stars or planets. You simply can never reach them. Often seas or wilderness or uncrossable mountains border these barriers, making reaching them or even knowing they are there, rare. Though there are stories of those who've been able to cross freely from world to world, I've never met one.

Some worlds ARE planets, like this one, or contain countless more planets and stars. I admit I hadn't thought a world could be so large, but if there's one there's likely others like this one, systems of many planets and lights, with their barriers far, far away from where a person might ever be able to reach them.

It gets complicated! I apologize for the sudden dissertation. I anticipate learning a lot more about how the many worlds act and interact with each other, since it seems I'll have a lot of time on my hands!

One can hope things will turn out well. Hope, and work for it a little.
