Hello, This is Kazuma- Lady Bishamonten's exemplar and I figure that this would be the best place to provide a vast amount of information to all the new Gods and their Shinkis. Since a lot of you are new and unused to the way things are viewed as, perhaps this post would be able to save some of you from making too big of a mistake.

Duties of a Shinki

A shinki's duty is to be their god's moral compass. Gods by nature are free of human sin, and by default- they are not obligated to have a sense of what is right or wrong. That is the shinki's job since they were mortal once upon a time, and they have knowledge of what is the best moral choice to make. A shinki must not indulge in actions that they deem to be morally incorrect, thus such feelings like guilt can prove deadly. When a shinki commits too many sins, or has too many negative emotions and thoughts, they are going to be blighted. When a shinki is blighted they risk endangering their god. When a god is blighted too much then there is a chance for their god to die. With all the changes happening in the heavens I am unsure of what will become of those that die nowadays.

The dynamics between multiple shinkis serving under one God.

As I had mentioned earlier, negative emotions and thoughts are deadly, so when one God has more then one shinki it is very very important to have a good harmony. My suggestion to those shinki who need to work with others to serve their god is to bring any problems - no matter how small - to their exemplar or lead shinki. Let the exemplar handle the situation and bring it to your god's attention.

Shinki's that serve multiple Gods.

Now, as fun as it would seem to serve multiple gods and have several cool and interesting shapes and names- this may not be met with much approval from the older gods. There is a special term used for Shinki's that chose to serve many gods: Noras. According to the older gods, Noras are are rather seen in a negative light. The best way to relate how the older gods see Noras is to link them to escorts? You use them for jobs that you do not want to use your own shinki to get involved in, and not mind being betrayed by them. My suggestion to those that are already Noras is to be discrete with that information or keep it to the newly created gods and shinkis.

At the risk of this post being too long, if you have any questions or concerns that need to be addressed, please feel free to address my number or approach me during my lessons at Lady Minerva's temple.

Thank you.

But a god without a shinki is as defenceless as a shinki without a god, isn't that right? So they're equal in that way. However, a shinki is the only one who can directly blight their god through their actions. That tips the scales in favour of the shinki, if applied correctly.

Maybe gods have the ability to release a shinki, but what if they have no other options available? Keeping a shinki content to keep them from acting out would be the wiser action.

Obviously not. The idea is to make yourself more valuable before you start making demands. [too bad he already has another shinki to compete with if that's what he wants to go for... hmmm.]

How does a god acquire new shinki? Are they distributed by the ones in charge, or through some other method?

So I've heard. If they're deciding to take control of shinki distribution, that implies they no longer trust the gods to choose for themselves. Have there been any issues with the previous system that you're aware of? Or anything that could have potentially caused issues?

You do realize I can read this, right?

[Really Add...]

I know for a fact my endurance outstrips yours.

I don't believe I've said anything inappropriate. I've merely been stating the facts of this world, kuku.

Is that supposed to be a threat?

It's a little obvious you're looking for leverage.

And it's a guarantee.

[personal profile] subtract 2016-05-27 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Why wouldn't I? You want my services, so I expect to be paid appropriately for them. I'm not interested in being worked like a slave.

Don't treat me poorly and I'll consider doing you the same courtesy.

[He won't waste time reiterating what he's already said. Add is as he is because he's connected to a god, and he's being provided for. That's about what a being like him is capable of]

Illuminate me on what I've done to harm you, then.

[personal profile] subtract 2016-05-29 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
Just because you haven't done something yet doesn't mean you won't. I'm not an idiot. [just paranoid.]

You can start by not turning me into my vessel form without my express permission. That's unacceptable.
cloak: (Default)

[personal profile] cloak 2016-05-29 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
What good would that do either of us?

Normally, I do ask. Ludger can tell you that much. But you wanted a demonstration.
subtract: you lose your mind (I-0103)

[personal profile] subtract 2016-05-29 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know, why don't you tell me?

An explanation would've been fine, I never demanded a demonstration. Don't do it again. Am I being clear enough?

[He's still a little freaked out over that, honestly... but it's not like he's going to actually talk about his feelings or anything stupid like that.]
cloak: (thought)

[personal profile] cloak 2016-05-29 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
How does that work, when you're the one making the suggestion?

You're not the kind of guy who'd take my word for it.

[Stated like he knows, hm]
subtract: you lose your mind (I-0081)

[personal profile] subtract 2016-05-29 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
If you're too stupid to figure it out, don't bother answering. [As if he'd give him any ideas...]

That's a poor excuse. You don't know anything about me. And if you can't even give me the most minimal amount of respect, you're not getting anything out of me. Do I need to repeat myself?
cloak: (thought)

[personal profile] cloak 2016-05-29 04:44 am (UTC)(link)
I think you just want to argue with me.

Right about now, I know more about you than you do. Not that that's hard.
subtract: you lose your mind (I-0087)

[personal profile] subtract 2016-05-29 05:45 am (UTC)(link)
So what you're trying to say is that you know what's best for me, so my opinion doesn't matter to you? Am I correct?
cloak: (thought)

[personal profile] cloak 2016-05-29 05:56 am (UTC)(link)
No.

[There were many times he hadn't known how to help Add, and plenty where he'd made matters worse. Sometimes...sometimes he's sure he was right.

But never always]

But there are things I understand.
subtract: you lose your mind (I-0009)

[personal profile] subtract 2016-05-29 06:37 am (UTC)(link)
Like what? Can you read my mind? See the future? Is there a more compelling reason for why you're avoiding an agreement to my terms?
cloak: (thought)

[personal profile] cloak 2016-05-29 06:53 am (UTC)(link)
No, I can't read minds. It's not something I'm free to explain.

I can't be sure that I'd never need to use your vessel form without first asking. If for example it was the only way to get you out of a situation quickly, I would take that action.

So I can't guarantee that I never will.
subtract: you lose your mind (I-0136)

[personal profile] subtract 2016-05-29 07:25 am (UTC)(link)
[Picky...

Though he doesn't mind being so specific, really.]

Fine. Under the condition that my life is at stake I would allow that as an exception, providing you return me to my normal form immediately upon my request. Are there any other issues?
cloak: (thought)

[personal profile] cloak 2016-05-29 07:38 am (UTC)(link)
There might be events that I can't know to anticipate. I can say I won't act arbitrarily, but not everything is easily foreseen.

The world I found myself in last wasn't very predictable, and I haven't judged this one's reliability yet.
subtract: you lose your mind (I-0070)

[personal profile] subtract 2016-05-29 07:41 am (UTC)(link)
Stop making annoying excuses. What exactly do you want from me? [He's getting absolutely nowhere with this guy, ugh...]
cloak: (say)

[personal profile] cloak 2016-05-29 07:52 am (UTC)(link)
I'm being honest. Isn't that what you want?

If I'm in a position to ask, I will. But if I don't have the time or it'd be detrimental, sometimes I might have to take action first. Whatever the case, it's not a state I'd leave you in.

You're not answering my question. What do you want from me? Or would it be better for me to ask what do you expect from me? Since you're so determined to be obtuse about my perfectly reasonable request.
