URGENT: APPEAL FOR INFORMATION

Princess Yona, known on the Far Shore as the Goddess Áine, has been missing since the early afternoon of November 12th. She was last seen in her temple grounds late this morning: her movements since then are unclear. All attempts to get in touch with her have so far been unsuccessful. The Princess's absence is highly uncharacteristic and incredibly concerning to everyone who knows her, and our fear is that she has met with misadventure or foul play.

The Princess is sixteen years old. She is of average height, slender build, and noble bearing. She has curly, shoulder-length, russet hair and bright, piercing purple eyes, and was dressed when last seen in a red tunic top and long pink skirt, with distinctive long golden earrings. She may be wearing a light green cloak with a hood, and carrying a bow and arrows.

If you have any knowledge of her whereabouts, or any indication of where she may have been headed or who she may have been with, please get in contact at the earliest opportunity.

I can come to no other conclusion.

She has not been seen for some hours and I am not certain how to proceed.

And you have checked around any places she would have gone to, both on the Far and Near Shores?

I can check again, if you believe it would help?

[It was the first thing he did, and the second, and the fourth, and it is growing so awfully late - but sitting around is driving Kija crazy.

[Even if it is pointless, at least he will feel he is doing something.]

Yona as well now? I was out earlier looking for Alex's shinki who's disappeared as well. Is she the only person you know of who's gone?

[It seems to be something more than just isolated incidents.]

[ Another person is missing? This... doesn't sound good. ]

Kija? Do you need help looking?

Caster, also known as Cú Chulainn, is also missing, and it's possible that another shinki that I know has gone missing as well. None of them answer their phones, and there's no clue to their whereabouts.

It seems that both has gone missing while wandering the forest around Caster's temple. At least I'm sure that Caster did, while Saber was coming to visit the temple the last time I've heard from her.

[ There is a crash and a horrified gasp from this line. The voice on the other end is faint, as if they'd dropped both the phone (and something else they were holding) upon hearing the news, and are now far away from the speaker. ]

P-Princess Yona has gone missing??

I do not know what else to believe. I have been searching since before sundown, and have seen no sign, or hint, of where she could have gone. I have tried to contact her on the telephone, but though she is unfamiliar with such devices, it is entirely unlike her not to respond. I am certain she would not do such a thing by choice.

There are others, too? I had heard tell of some, but I thought them quite unrelated.

Any help would be appreciated, but please be careful, Nanako. I would not have you acting alone, or heading out unaccompanied. Please, wait until we have a party organized.

[Kija does not know where to look. He has no idea what they're up against.

[He cannot risk making matters any worse.]

So, the Princess cannot have been targeted personally. This cannot be sheer coincidence.

How in the world could a God become lost in a forest? Surely they should have been able to transport themselves back home, as soon as they realized they had lost their way? And surely a shinki could have been recalled to vessel form?

[Does that knowledge make it better? Or merely a thousand times worse?]

Hibiki! I cannot fathom it!

[It is easy to be calm, in writing.

[Kija's voice is a betrayal. That, and the tension in his grasp as he clutches the phone - even in his left, human hand, he can feel the device cutting into his palm. He does not dare take it in his right, not when he suddenly needs it so badly. Not when one moment of tension could see him cut off completely, and what would happen if she tried to call?]

I have searched everywhere! Her temple, the temples of her friends, the streets - the other world! And still I have no sign of her, nor any word - nor anything!

Nanako, stop that.

all you might have to worry about is that you made her sound so cute that maybe a lot of people will look for her hoping for a date (ﾉ･_-)☆

[ She aims for her mouth and misses - the teacup hits her cheek, almost sloshes. She corrects it immediately.

[It is some small relief not to be trying to write - to be able to move. It serves no purpose, it changes absolutely nothing, but it is in its own small way a release.]

I do not even know where to start. And I was supposed to protect her.

[Kija's chest hurts. He hopes there is a cure.]

Would you like assistance? It may help to have more than one pair of eyes on the lookout.

Don't worry, I'll be careful, Kija! But it sounds like a lot of people are getting lost, huh? Kotori - she's one of Shun-oniichan's shinki - said some people were getting lost around the forest. Do you think your friend might have gone near there?

Chikusa, do you know where Ken is?

Kaden is the only other one I know about for sure, but it seems a little bit suspicious that he hasn't truly disappeared. Usually when newcomers vanish, it's permanent, but Kaden's link with his god is still intact, she just can't find him.

I have to wonder if something is interfering.

Indeed. The fact that none of them is back means that something prevents them from teleportation as well as from any contact. Alex mentioned that she can still feel her shinki but can't say where he is. If you check the BBS you'll notice there are other disapparances mentioned. It's not coincidence.

Better don't walk around alone until we know what's going on, or you may go missing as well.

Some of my friends are missing. And so is Hakkai, right? Ken's really good at helping to find people and things, right?

If so many people have gone missing, then it's obviously not a regular forest. Lots of people were probably careful and they still got taken.

[Oh, look, he's refusing to answer that other question on Ken's ability to find things...]

If it helps her return home, then it's okay.

I have been told that a number of others are missing, too. Would you have heard any more about the matter than that?

I'll assume control of the search operation.

Just because it's not a regular forest doesn't mean we shouldn't still go looking for them, Chikusa. We can't just leave them in there!

Are you just going to run in there without a plan or anything?

No. We need a plan, because we need to get them back out.

But Chikusa, the forest never did this before. Sure it was scary and dangerous before sometimes, but people could still come back from it. Something changed. So we have to find out what so everyone can come home!

[ See? She has thought this through. ]

I'm not the only one who wants to go in looking, either. If everyone works together, I'm sure we can make this stop.

We don't know enough about the forest to have a plan besides that people are getting trapped in it. Right?

Chikusa how do we make a plan when we don't even know what changed?

People can still prepare themselves even if they don't know what the root problem is.
